Note. The main goal of the project “Inclusive Education in Uzbekistan”, launched in 2007, is to create equal education opportunities for children and teenagers with disabilities. The project led to the development of a concept of a National Model of Inclusive Education to be introduced to the system of pre-school and school education through setting up mixed groups and classes within pilot schools and kindergartens in the cities of Navoi, Termez, Karshi, Jizzak, Samarkand and Kokand. From 2010, the project covers new kindergartens, schools, lyceums and colleges in Tashkent, Gulistan, Andijan and Ferghana. As of today, over 600 children with disabilities have been involved in pilot groups. Over 1.1 bln soums has been channeled into the project.
